Juwon Samuel Afolayan, an esteemed Fellow in Earth System Governance, and current Doctoral Researcher at Nottingham Trent University, stands at the forefront of addressing environmental challenges through a dynamic blend of research and leadership. Afolayan’ s academic pursuits go beyond traditional boundaries, focusing on pioneering next-gen sustainable solutions. As the Global Chapters Coordinator at the World Youth Parliament for Water, Afolayan establishes water parliaments, impacting local actions across over 35 countries.

Recognized as a Kofi Annan Foundation Changemaker, he brings a youthful perspective to global discussions, as seen in his participation at the UN DESA Global Policy Dialogue. Afolayan ‘s contributions extend to high-impact journal publications, water governance modelling, and special contributions to international forums, including the UNEP and WMO water quality workshop (Netherlands), Water generation workshop (France), the Dushanbe Water Process (Tajikistan), and the European-African Union Mega Pre-Conference on Water. His dynamic leadership, coupled with quantifiable impacts, positions him as a force in shaping the future of environmental solutions.

The second edition of the World Youth Forum was where he had his first full contact with the Board of the WYPW and he immediately enrolled with the organization, after having discover the alignment of his passion with their goals. He was later promoted to the position of the National Chapters Facilitator in 2019.
