Objective
1. Background
1.1 World Youth Parliament for Water
The World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) is a network of passionate young people from
over 80 countries. Members take action on water issues at all levels; from concrete actions in
local communities, to advocacy for youth leadership in the water sector at the United Nations
General Assembly. The WYPW responds to the interests of youth, working together to prioritise
water issues and create platforms for the expertise of youth to be recognised on these issues.
They support youth-led water projects and work to see that youth have a valued and respected
decision-making seat among senior water management officials.
