Workshop Guidelines for the Blue Peace Youth Calculations

Members of WYPW designed an engaging workshop called the Blue Peace Youth Calculations that will enable youth from around the globe to explore the complexity of transboundary water cooperation issues in an easy and fun way.

The Blue Peace Youth Calculations are based on the methodology developed for the Blue Peace Index (BPI). The BPI represents an assessment system demonstrating how well a country manages its transboundary water resources across five groups of indicators, including: (1) Policy and Legal Framework, (2) Institutional Arrangements & Participation, (3) Water Management Instruments, (4) Infrastructure & Financing, and (5) Cooperation Context. WYPW adapted BPI methodology for the Blue Peace Youth Calculations making it fun and engaging event where the youth provide the brains behind the assessment of specifically selected river basins. As an ultimate goal, the event aims to generate research interest and promote dialogue amongst the youth of riparian states sharing transboundary waters. The event might be conducted both in offline and online formats.
