COP25 – WYPW represented by two members

World Youth Parliament for Water

Advocate

Description

The WYPW was present at COP25 in Madrid to advocate for the role of youth in working on water-related issues and climate change. Two members, Pippi Von Ommen (Netherlands) and Adelin Pierre (Haiti) joined ISW’s Vladimir Arana in the event Youth for water and climate, a bottom-up adaption in scenarios of uncertain governance. It was a great opportunity to reaffirm the need to institutionalize the involvement of youth in policy-making processes regarding water and climate, and this, at all levels.

The participation of the WYPW to these type of events enables its members to advocate directly to policy makers and reinforces the importance of the role of youth in changing policy on climate change and water issues.
