Every 3 years, during the World Water Forums, the World Youth Parliament for Water organizes its General Assembly, aimed at building the capacities of young people on major water issues, preparing their participation in the Forum, and above all, building an advocacy and action plan. These young people then undertake to implement them at their own level after the General Assembly. The main objective is to build a network of young water leaders who are competent, audible, and influential.
The upcoming General Assembly of the World Youth Parliament for Water will take place in Bali from May 15 to 25, 2024, as part of the 10th World Water Forum. The young people are being brought together by the International Secretariat for Water under the theme: “Water and youth - levers for cooperation and peace”.
Find bellow the list of delegates for the 6th General Assembly of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW). Out of more than 650 received applications, 70 young participants from over 50 countries have been selected. These youths are committed to actively contributing to this General Assembly, to the Forum as a whole, and most importantly, to continuing their engagement beyond their involvement in Bali. It's important to emphasize that the International Secretariat for Water, through its youth strategy 'Water Generation', aims to support the long-term action and influence of young people.

Her research focuses on water security, governance, and food-water-energy interlinkages to sustainable development. Ayako received a BA in Economics and a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan. She now works at Moonshot Missions, where she supports the development of drinking water and wastewater technical assistance programs for rural, tribal, and underserved utilities in the United States. Alyssa holds a bachelor’s degree in International Development and Economics. She is currently enrolled in IISD-Next workshop series. Her experience in the water sector involves volunteering for Water Mission's Walk for Water in Canada. The Walk for Water simulates what it is like for individuals to walk 3 miles to access water. These events aim to increase awareness of global water issues and raise funds towards making water more accessible in less-developed countries.

Aurora is a Young Expert at Blue Deal. She works as a technical assistant in integrated water resources management at the technical secretariat of the water resources council of the Tumbes basin. She supports decision making through geospatial data generation and analysis. She is currently involved in carbon credit projects, natural infrastructure, and also in the implementation of hydrological models in the Tumbes basin.

Danielle is a Cameroonian-born Canadian youth advocate for the SDGs 6 “water and sanitation for all” and 13 “climate action”. Her passion for better understanding and reducing social inequalities, global development issues, and protecting her environment and its natural resources, led her to pursue a master’s degree in Humanitarian Action and International Development management, and to get involved with the World Youth Parliament for Water.

Melanie Schadt holds an MSc in Hydrogeology and a BSc in Environmental Science. Rae Landriau is a graduate student at Carleton University pursuing an MSc. in physical geography. Their research is on legacy drilling waste sites in the western Canadian Arctic. Their project is in collaboration with the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Inuvialuit Land Administration and NSERC PermafrostNet. Rae founded the Create Change Collective, a community-based organization dedicated to making environmental education more accessible.

Tekaherha Logan Lazore works as a Environmental Field Technician for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne where she works closely with the community of Akwesasne and species at risk through various projects year-round. She is involved in monitoring sturgeon, eel and minnow populations as well as preserving Indigenous traditional fishing methods to pass on to future generations. She has earned a BA in Indigenous Environmental Studies at Trent University.

She is currently a pharmacy student and has previously worked in human resources development and communications for Rumah Disabilitas Malang.

Laila has been a speaker for the Ecofeminism & Environmental Journalism Workshop 2024 in Aceh, Indonesia, an international project sponsored by the US Department of State. She advocated about the critical role of women in water for this project.

Founder of Green Towns Initiative, Joan is a grassroot leader of freshwater ecosystem restoration through Nature-based Solutions. Through her leadership, GTI has empowered nearly 5,000 students to grow thousands of indigenous trees. Furthermore, she has empowered local communities to grow mini-forests in their homesteads. She also works for World Vision, where she contributes to the design, planning, and implementation of projects aimed at ensuring access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Nduku Louis Tebi is Founder and Team Lead at Xhuma Africa, an association of young people working for peace and environmental preservation in Cameroon. He has initiated, and coordinated the implementation of several climate change adaptation projects across Africa. He is a Kanthari Fellow and recipient of the Young Global Changer recoupling award 2024 from the Global Solutions Submit in Berlin, Germany.

Kristina currently serves as the President of the International Student One Health Alliance (ISOHA), where she leverages her expertise to promote youth-driven healthcare solutions. She has been elected as the Vice President of the World Youth Parliament for Water, further amplifying her commitment to global health and environmental sustainability. Beyond her formal roles, she is the founder of Indigenous Home, a volunteer platform with the mission of making a positive impact on underserved communities.

Eliott is an Engineer student at the National School for Water and Environmental Engineering of Strasbourg, France. He is currently working on the integrated hydrology of volcanic areas, but he also kept working on water treatment problematics all along his studies.

Mathieu is a young, motivated and committed student in the Audomaroise region, where he was born and raised. Passionate about social issues and local development, he joined the Youth Parliament for Water of Artois-Picardie. The preservation of this vital resource has become a real priority for him.
